Maridea Wealth Management has acquired an Arizona-based advisory firm, marking the firm’s second office in the Phoenix market.
Phoenix-based Chichester Financial Group, founded in 2001 by John Chichester Jr., offers wealth management-related services, including financial planning, investment management, estate and tax planning, insurance services, and tax-related investment strategies.
Chichester, who brings over two decades of experience to Maridea, will join the firm as a senior financial planner. Chichester is joined by support team members Stephanie Bawolek, Dawson Gonwick, Toni Solberg, and Jonathan Blaha, the firm said.
Following Maridea’s acquisition of Chichester Financial Group, which closed on March 12, all five employees have transitioned to the firm, a Maridea spokesperson said to Connect Money.
Chichester Financial Group marks Maridea Wealth Management’s second firm in the Phoenix market, following its acquisition of Gilbert, AZ-based Heritage Financial Strategies, a women-owned practice, in September.
The firm, which was formerly affiliated with LPL Financial, marks Maridea Wealth Management’s second acquisition of the year, following its acquisition of Los Angeles-based Hyperion Accounting Group.
“Maridea’s high-growth trajectory, entrepreneurial culture, and long-term vision were key factors that attracted my team and me to this partnership,” Chichester said. “By coming together, we’re able to expand the tax-smart planning and retirement solutions we provide while continuing to deliver exceptional service to clients.”
By way of the acquisition, the Chichester team will gain access to Maridea’s retirement plan capabilities, including 401(k) plan design, fiduciary support, participant education, and tax-efficient retirement strategies, Maridea said.
New York City-based Maridea Wealth Management oversees more than $1 billion in assets under management across seven offices serving over 40 financial professionals, the firm said.
